Department of Chemistry, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara organizes the 23rd Prof. K.V. Thomas Endowment National Seminar on 27 and 28th November 2024. This conference provides forum for sharing knowledge and innovations in the field of material chemistry. Eminent scholars from various parts of nation speak on cutting-edge research in the field of materials for sustainable development. About Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry was established in 1945. It offers one undergraduate progamme and two postgraduate programmes (M.Sc Chemistry & M.Sc Pharmaceutical Chemistry). The Department is a recognized research center under Mahatma Gandhi University and is now supported by DST under FIST programme.
Prof. K V Thomas
Prof. K V Thomas served the Department as a member of the faculty and later as HOD. He was the union Minister for Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, and the minister for Tourism and Fisheries, Government of Kerala. Prof. K V Thomas Endowment Trust was established in 2002 by his colleagues and well-wishers for organing seminars/symposiums annually, to honor their beloved professor.
The seminar will encompass a broad spectrum of topics, bringing together delegates from diverse fields, including Applied Energy Materials, Applied Materials & Interfaces, Applied Nanomaterials, Chemical Biology, Waste Water Treatment, Organic and Physical Chemistry, Green and Computational Chemistry, Polymers & Biopolymers, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, and beyond. This diverse gathering will foster rich, interdisciplinary discussions and inspire innovative ideas across these critical domains
